Redesign of the Tata Docomo mobile app to stay relevant in a competitive environment


Tata Docomo is one of the innovators of the telecom market in India. They had pioneered 1 second billing and were the pioneers for mobile broadband through dongles in the country. With changes in market dynamics and the everchanging mobile network ecosystems in the country, it was important for Tata Docomo to stay young and innovative. To this end, Tata Docomo needed to refresh its consumer app for a new range of devices and screen sizes.

The Solution

We redesigned the app using a modern simple design language focusing on brand colours to help deliver emphasis. With a focus on speed, the app was designed so it could be used comfortably in one hand. Emphasis was made on offers and promotions to help drive additional usage. Equal focus was paid to deliver a similar experience to customers when they were accessing their account from the app or the my account website
