The Breif

In the cluttered world of destination marketing, MakeMyTrip had created a unique differentiation with its unique travel packages to Bhutan. However, since there was very little content or conversations around Bhutan, MakeMyTrip wanted to use media effectively to create interest in the product and generate sales.

The Idea

While most travel companies resort to the same form of static advertising on search and mobile, MakeMyTrip decided to create a form of native travel advertising on mobile never seen before. An ad about its Bhutan package in panoramic 360 degrees.
We created Ghoom Ke Dekho 360 Bhutan. Presenting the world’s 1st 360-degree mobile ad unit, created to promote the unique Bhutan packages of MakeMyTrip. A special ad unit designed to take advantage of the built-in gyroscope of mobiles and Facebook. Instead of static images, users were transported to the lush valleys, and the untouched beauty of the world’s happiest country. Users could look in all directions and experience Bhutan within the ad by simply turning their phone in all directions.
The ad was shot over 10 days, at some of the world’s least visited wonders, using custom rigs & 6 GoPros cameras. The Bhutan 360 mobile ad captured the natural beauty and undiluted culture of a nation in breathtaking panorama for the rest of the world to see.
